[Brno Trip 9-14/07/2016] Day 5: Autocamp Merkur - Marchegg Bahnhof, Austria (cycling 103 km)

The longest cycling of us and also the first time we had experienced cycling 5 hours in the heavy rain. Our mistake that day was to follow the cycling route as it led us around a thousand of pumpkin and sunflower fields on a sandy road. When the sand meets the rains, the 2 bikepackerz feel the pain! We couldn't cycle fast and enjoy the view anymore.
Our bikes was having shower all day

After 60 km of sticky sandy road and about 200 rabbits running on the fields next to us, we lost slowly our temper and motivation because it was dark and we still had 40 km to go. We decided to leave the bicycle route and enter the national road in order to arrive not too late at our Couchsurfing host in Marchegg. Finally, after almost 12 hours and 103 km of cycling, we were in front of Annika's house at 10 p.m.

I guess that everyone would be watchful seeing us appear in front of their gate. We looked terrible! But Annika, without doubting, showed us the storage room where we could put our bikes and welcomed us to her house with a prepared dinner. We were so thankful and moved as she waited for us and shared everything with us. Moreover, she even gave us her room and slept at the hallway herself. That night, we slept like two kids and dreamed of our sweet home which we would get back tomorrow....

(To be continued...)
