This was maybe the most exhausting day among the six days for us. Yesterday evening, we didn't have time to take shower after setting up the tent and preparing for beds. Our bodies and minds actually just turned off and we just slept not at our freshest. The next morning, the filtering sunlight through the leaves, towards our tent and the singing birds woke us up. Péter brought the best news of the day: "The water in the lake is perfect for a morning bath! It's time to be washed!". It was one of the best things that we had done during the trip, to be one with mother Nature. We took shower with the wild ducks swimming nearby, fish wandering under our feet, in the morning light. No one can be closer to the nature than us now.
| Our classical breakfast! |
We continued the trip after the classical breakfast - instant noodle and packing everything. We passed quickly the first couple of kilometers with easy flat road and soon after that encountered an evil uphill around the mountain. In my whole life, I had never seen such long and thrilling slope. In total, we overcame 11 kilometers of consecutive uphills with a time record of 3 hours. Brilliant!
Until we almost reached the highest point of the slope, we had drunk the last drop of water, eaten the last piece of bread and no more to serve. I faced a killing blood sugar drop and refused to move. We totally collapsed! The hero of the day, Sas Péter, checked the map and made a guess that soon there will be the peak, and from there no more uphills. Péter decided to remove the panniers and continue to cycle alone to the pit stop and get some chocolate and some water for me.

Just like that, he easily found the restaurant and hotel after 500 meters but as we predicted on the first day, they didn't accept card payment. Luckily, one kind waiter gave us some free tap water and it helped us to keep going. And soon came the wonderful reward for cyclists after the damn uphill, 8 kilometers of downhill!!!
We continued for another 50 kilometers until the sun went down. At this point, we were already in Czech republic, in the town named Břeclav. Our strategy was to hang around the town and just stopped at any house with garden to ask for a free camping slot. We bumped in to a 3-leveled house with a wide opened gate and a camp-able yard. Looked like we would have a chance here.
The house belongs to an old Czech married couple, who live by themselves. The husband could speak fluently German and so we could talk to each other without any difficulties. It took them just some minutes of discussion and then welcome us to their well-taken care yard and some other minutes to show us around the house, a very nice one! They didn't seem annoyed by our sudden request and treat us as their relatives who they didn't meet for long time. We could only repeat many times: "Thank you" to them in return even though we would love to do more.

When we were unpacking and about to setting the tent, the husband appeared again and with a bit hesitation, he offered to us: "The basement of our house is a self-contained department with zero residences. If you want, just come inside and spend the night there. It doesn't matter if you stay inside or outside, they are both free!". We were totally grateful for his words and so at the end, we decided to stay inside. Before going to sleep, the husband even offered some beers and juice to us, meanwhile sharing some stories about his family. Wishing us good night and left with a friendly smile, he made us so happy and moved. Such a respectable man!
That night, in a foreign country, in a house that was never visited by us, we slept very well and felt so in love with our travelling life!
But our happy moment didn't last too long...
(To be continued...)
